Often the perceived problem is not what the real problem is
When you employ a consultant, it is vital you are as open and honest with them as possible from the start and you are open to constructive feedback.
One of the many benefits of using a consultant is that they are not emotional involved in the business.
This gives them the opportunity to look at the business from the outside inwards. A good consultant will tell you what the real problems are and not what you think the problem are.
This can come as a shock to many people, especially when they have put so much effort in to their business and then are told it is their management or communication skills is the root cause of the problems.
